Infants & Toddlers
Available at all Sunday & Wednesday Services
Our Infants & Toddlers workers view serving the children as an honor and a high calling. These volunteers are called to exemplify our mission statement of knowing, loving and serving Jesus. Parents may be reassured that any person working directly with the children must have their own personal relationship with Christ, must complete a Children’s Ministry Application and undergo a national background check.
Children’s Ministry applications are available at the Information Counter in the church lobby. Completed applications can be dropped off in an Agape Box located in the auditorium or handed to a Children’s Ministry staff person. For more information on serving in this vital ministry, please contact Paula Wibberley or Lacey Mermin.

What should I do if my child cries when I drop him/her off?
There is an adjustment period for every child when he/she is placed in new surroundings. To lessen the effects of this adjustment period we suggest the following:
1. Pray for and with your child.
2. When planning to attend service, please make sure your child is fed and well rested.
Our experience is that the longer the parent delays in leaving the child, the longer the child will cry and be unhappy. If for some reason the child does not adjust and continues to cry, we will page the parent to come to the classroom. -
Can my baby or young child sit with me in the church service?
We believe that is vital that God’s Word be shared with people of all ages, thus we have church services that are geared towards the different developmental levels of our church population.
Our services in the auditorium are designed for adults and it is important that there be minimal distractions that might hinder the focusing on Jesus Christ through worship and teachings. Children under the age of 10 (ten) are not permitted in the adult services except on special occasions when accompanied by an adult.
While the adults are worshiping in the auditorium, children have the opportunity to worship Jesus and study the Bible too in their own classes. We’ve found that we are able to do a much better job of ministering to your kids and helping them to grow spiritually in these environments where they are able to be more active and social, and they are learning through multi-sensory lessons.
Please note: If you feel uncomfortable about leaving your children in their classes or if you have a special need and are unable to sit through the entire service, we request that you view the service from the overflow room where you can sit with your children. This room is located inside the auditorium immediately to the left and is equipped with viewing windows and speakers -
What if my child is potty training?
If your child is in underwear and is potty training, we ask that you inform the teacher of your child’s progress, take him/her to the restroom just before class and bring an extra change of clothes.
In the toddler room, if there is an accident, the teacher will change your child with the clothes you have provided.
In the 2 & 3 year old classroom, if there is an accident, the parent will be paged to change the child. -
Is there a private area for mother’s to nurse their babies?
We provide a private partitioned section of the overflow room for nursing mothers. The overflow room is located just inside the auditorium doors on the left. The far left section of the room is available to mothers to nurse their babies.
This Nursing Mothers’ Area and the women’s handicap restroom are equipped with diaper changing areas for your convenience.
We ask that all mothers who need to nurse their babies or change diapers please use the overflow room and not the infant room. Space is very limited and we want to give our volunteers and the babies plenty of room to play and explore.
